We are in the West Midlands this week and wanted to visit Birmingham and Coventry. In order to park the motorhome without getting a ticket I've emailed the parking department of the Council requesting advice on where to park with the result of being directed to park in the lorry or coach park. Both had big signs saying "no caravans or cars". Perhaps an email pays off.

My thinking is that if enough people are asking they may feel there is a market.

 Your Campervan is not a car or caravan.

We’ve only been completely defeated in 3 places: Stamford, East Winterton and the motor museum at Gaydon.

We spent our money somewhere else....

Stamford no problem park on station road outside the cattle market car park get there early, walk across the meadows to the town centre

Looking at their website, the museum at Gaydon appears to have lots of parking. Is there something to prevent motorhomes parking there?

Nothing stopping you using any car park unless of course it’s height barrierd. If you need to pay simply take 2 tickets if you take 2 spaces. Or use and overhang and reverse in?

No spaces big enough... there are some coach spaces, but they were all full. The rest of the car park was rammed. We drove round three times and gave up. Not even an imaginative approach would work.

Well, quite possibly, but we got there around lunch time and couldn’t find anywhere. We asked a council chappie we came across and he shrugged and said good luck finding somewhere...

Unfortunately, it looks like some people can't tell the difference.....

There is no animal called a motorhome. They are motor caravans and if a sign says "No caravans of any sort", as Coventry coach park does, then you are on dangerous ground.
