Well that's what it sounds like!

The neighbours have got their diesel-fired heating powered up.

Almost as bad as a bloody generator, no second thoughts, not a patch on the noise coming from most gennies!!

The Propex heater fitted to my van can't be heard unless you have your ear quite close to it.

Agreed, nowhere near as bad as a gennie ...

No doubt that will get fired up in the morning to cook breakfast!

I hear their fed up with the van next door having PIR lights which keep switching on. :p

It was like Bangkok here last weekend, a half dozen tuggers turned up, they had nine enormous lighted masts between them. Totally ruined the dark sky experience.:(

Tell them to fit inet/exhaust silencers and get a grip of temp settings....
No need for them to be noisy.

Yip, I have the genuine eber inlet and exhaust silencers fitted, and it’s far more noisy inside our van than outside......that is unless I decide to remove the exhaust one (2 min job) if people pull up what I deem to be to close for comfort/privacy.

I have to wear ear plugs to sleep, even with the eber running on low whereas Lisa isn’t bothered by it at all.

I think it might have something to do with the red wine she’s consumed though lol.

We were in an new 40 van capacity aire, last autumn when a Van parked next to us, the rest of the aire was almost empty, at about 2am missus went out to see what 'is about to blow us up' as she put it. I told what the noise was which she found hard to believe.

We had that a couple of years back at Sommières, it was quite windy and the branches on the trees inbetween us were obviously triggering it :mad2:

I ended up taping some cardboard over the habitation door window to stop the bloody light coming in because the door window blind is useless at the best of times :hammer:

As for the original post we`ve moved several times because of damned Eberspächer`s roaring away right next to us.

The motorhome occupants must be either deaf, wear earplugs or are that pissed they`ll sleep though anything given the amount of empty wine bottles on the floor outside.

And you can’t feel the heat from your propex unless your ear is right next to it.

I’d like to apologise in advance to anyone I park next to. I only put it on when I’m cold so please bear with me! :) ps, I asked about fitting a silencer but was told there was already one fitted ...

Last year in France there was a UK van with blue flashing (alarm) lights which flashed all night He wasn't very popular

Our Bailey Autograph had a bright blue flashing LED going all night after the alarm was fitted. They soon got asked to disable it. Now just a little red one. :D

I've got an eberspacher fitted to my motorhome, it's only on high for 5 minutes and then turned down quite low to maintain a steady 20/21Deg, but at that setting it's just a faint ticking noise. so apart from them sleeping through the noise of it on a high setting, how do they cope with the excessive heat generated too

It must be all the years tent camping that makes us immune to the cold! Good bedding/sleeping bags removes the need for a heater to be on at night only in the morning.

Yes indeed, a good winter quilt or and a couple of whippets each acting as hot water bottles is how we sleep, minus 1 in the van earlier this year and only a cold nose to moan about, but why is it always me who has to get out of bed to turn the eber on and out the kettle on ? Lol.

I actually love that bit, jumping out, turning it on and diving under the quilt!

I used to find more diesel heaters being a problem for noise when we used to narrowboat. Always managed to avoid them so far in the motorhome, though I have heard them in the distance at a couple of meets. Not as bad as generators at least.

I really don't get why some folks are desperate to be cold when they are away....
I don't like being cold at home let alone when I'm away and supposed to be having fun.
I fitted our eberspacher in the transit Jumbo and added inlet/exhaust silencers...
I can barely hear it from a metre away... And it's so cheap to run its simply not worth me being cold.

Ill be removing the underfloor battery in the Swift (being replaced with 2 x 220ah under the chassis)
And using the space for another eberspacher ducted into the existing ductwork from the gas fire/blown air.
