Most supermarkets limit the hours you can stay for free, But you can sign up for more. In looking into this I came across various sites that allow you to book for longer -like overnight.

Some advertise peoples drives. Has anyone used any of these apps to book?

Yes, I've used Your Parking Space app at Tesco Inverness, no problems at all 🙂
I've got the Your Parking Space app, but never actually used it yet.
I have seen reports that you apparently need to book your extra time at Tesco or wherever BEFORE you enter the car park and should not wait until you are parked up. It might have something to do with carparks with ANPR camera systems I guess?
Is this something you have found or are aware of?

It looks like a very handy App, have to say. I've just not had occasion to use it yet.

We have done so several times with no issues whatsoever.
But I find the search engine frustrating because you can’t expand the search area.
But I think it’s a really good app.

Spent many a night in Tesco car parks. Great wine cellar.
I always check with Customer Services and if there is a time limit they add me as a "staff vehicle".

In the middle of Stratford I wanted to stay for two consecutive nights to visit the town.
Manager said "Put £5 in the charity tin", I put £10 in. Cheap for two nights slap in the centre of town.

That’s a great tip about checking with Customer Services and getting added as a staff vehicle. I hadn’t come across that before. Also interesting to hear how flexible some managers can be when you just ask. I’ll keep that in mind, especially for places like Stratford where parking can be tricky and pricey. Cheers for sharing!

You were fortunate to be able to do it that way. A lot of supermarket car parks are managed by a third party and the supermark themselves have no control over anything that happens in them.

Tesco had an agreement with the third party that allowed their staff to park for an unlimited period, hence customer services added my MoHo has a "staff vehicle".

I think Tescos has been doing this for a long time, one of the top men has/had a motothome and set it up that if anyone asks, they can stay one night, but up to the manager.

Lidl let you stay for free Kev.
Ask the manager and all they ask is you’re away for 8 next morning.
We always buy something, but that’s not mandatory.

Never come across this requirement.
Simple to circumvent
1) Drive in
2) Request extra time
3) Leave (in under 'normal time lmit')
4) Drive in
5) Overnight
6) Leave (using extra time)

That's if you go in and ask to stay longer.
I think the comment was about when you book with yourparkingspace or justpark.
With them, you want the booking in the system before the camera picks up your number entering.

Hmm, No good.
