Overnight parking ban in Lancashire!

Was going to open and read but this secuity notice poped up. 😨

Councillor Rupert Swarbrick said at the time the new parking restrictions would hope to crack down on the environmental impact caused by a “minority of owners who empty liquid waste down drains and on green areas along the promenade”.

Sounds about right.

He states "...a minority" and then punishes everyone. Huge fines for misuse as a deterrent would be a better solution.

Lancaster council are to ban all dog owners because a minority don’t pick up their dog mess.
Lancaster council are to ban all car owners because a minority use them as racing tracks at night.
Lancaster council are to ban all car owners because a minority are leaving their rubbish in their car parks and not using the bins provided.
Lancaster council are to ban all car owners due to use of disposable barbecues by a minority.
Lancaster council are to ban all car drivers due to antisocial behaviour including dogging, playing loud music, and consuming drink and drugs by a minority.

Etc. :)

Pigs will fly.

Also I assume by fluid waste he is referring to grey water, many CLs and even one CCC site have no grey water facility and permit dumping of grey water down drains or into hedges. I take it no one in Lancaster ever washes their cars outside their homes.

It doesn't really bother me Bill, again Morecambe is a place I will probably never visit.

I'm just drinking the Devil's Advocaat as usual (or sumfink like that) :giggle:

Me to Rob, but many others would like to visit this area, and the principle is what matters, yet again we alone are singled out for special treatment, whilst others who behave badly are free to use these places.
But let’s not go round in circles on here again.
It’s the same old, same old. :(

You are definitely not wrong . Think we all feel the same

I use to live in Lancaster and often drove along Morecambe prom. I do think the number of Motorhomes parked up was excessive as it seemed the line went on for ever! I agree Morecambe doesn’t have much to offer but there are times that the sunsets over Morecambe Bay are fantastic and very photogenic. With the Northern Eden Project on its way 🤞 I’m afraid the parking issue on the prom will have to be addressed.
