Our contribution to the uk economy

I have no objection to towns not wanting us to overnight as there are a lot of out of town spots and CL's and CS's but it would be nice to have parking facilities during the day. We visited the Back to Backs in Birmingham today and had to request special permission to use the lorry park while we visited. Coventry council website suggest ringing in advance to park a motorhome.

Yes I agree Sam, many a time whilst on a site we have taken the bus or train to the nearest town or city because we don’t know if parking places are available.

Now we agree on that one 2cv, good point.

I have stated on here already its a pity that the organisations who represent us (or claim to) have self interest at heart.
I am a C&MH club member, and I reckon their sites are excellent, Our grandson loves them.
But they did not even reply to an email I sent them last year pointing out that their tours only include campsites and CLs.
I pointed out to them that we enjoy the freedom that 'Wild Camping' offers us.
They may have changed their name, but they are still the same organisation.

Possibly as time passes some young person with a real bee in their bonnet will start up an organisation purely for us.
If they do I will happily pay my dues, and possibly even assist in a minor way.

Yes when I raised the subject of encouraging smaller motorhome pitches on low cost CLs (ie. Aires) all I got was sneering replies from tuggers and ex-tugger motorhomers saying there was no demand for THAT sort of thing.

I also raised the issue of allowing members who were wild camping to access chemical waste at their sites and CLs who agreed to this for a fee of around £5. I pointed out that they had changed their name to include Motorhomes, and that this would prove very helpful to their Motorhome members. I also pointed out that this may even encourage more members who would value this facility.

I got a reply which basicly stated.

“This would prove problematic for our sites, and an inconvenience to our members”

I emailed them back pointing out that I was a member and this could be limited to certain times of the day.

That was last October, still no reply.

Basicly they have changed their name, but they have not changed whatsoever.
