Probably sounds odd, but I was looking at some wall pockets/storage and couldn't ever find anything that was quite what I wanted.
Then I spotted that you can get MOLLE sheets for fitting to walls, etc. The pouches are cheap as chips, come in pretty much any shape or size you can think of, and can be mounted in any configuration. Most importantly, I'd already got a bunch of pockets/pouches knocking around.
Anyway, just another option that's out there.
