Kärcher window vac,

they are very popular on here this is a video of its postmortem.

The moral of the story seems to be, don't get water inside them.

I stopped buying them ,mine has high usage at home but all died within a few weeks after warranty expired .

I prefer my external screens.....

Karcher don't exactly have the best track record quality wise.

My misses bought one years ago for here cleaning business which my son now runs and it still works and it’s used daily.
 
I’ve had one for 5 years with no problems. Dries the windscreen in Winter when the windscreen acts as a great dehumidifier and dries out the shower after use all year round.
 
Absolutely needed when the silver screens are not used, the A class screens are all dripping wet from condensation on the cold glass. You must do the bottoms first as it is when it is held sideways the water sprays out of the vents, that is probably what happened to that one.. It does a really good jobs though but needs a car charger lead off a USB as it only come with a mains charger. I would get another if it stopped or now I know what is inside probably fix it.

I love BigClive and am a subscriber to his YouTube Channel, the man is a legend, genius. So much to learn and so much freely given. If anyone is interested in anything of an electronic type nature then he really is fun and useful to watch IMO
 
Brilliant bit of kit. Used mine last week for first time. Cleared the window in a jif.
Was considering external covers for new a class.
At a cost of £2-300 to be custom made I won’t bother now.
Bought mine from Costco c/w cleaning spray and attachment for £44.
A much cheaper option and it takes up less space.

Apart from the gallon that's been beading up and running down your window all night whilst you weren't in action with vour vac ...
Into the deep and likely unpainted bit hidden behind the dash in most vans.

Most of the water condenses on your window after and during the early stages after sunrise. Very little occurs during earlier parts of the night. If you are worried about ingress within the dash then I would have thought some waterproofing could be added there. This may also confirm or rebuke your assertion that much of the condensed water has already breached your dash. However I would have thought that manufacturers would have taken cognisance of this possibility, and taken required measures.

Also as hairydog points out your windscreen acts as a convector for condensation. If you prevent this, condensation will occur in other parts of your van.

Ours stopped charging just after 2 years, I knew it was just the charger but we had a free extended warranty from Homebase so I took it back and they gave us a replacement which was a much better design than the first generation.
Again the charger stopped working on the new one so I bought a replacement because I wanted the plug to make a UBS charger lead for it, so apart from the chargers being a dodgy it's been a great bit of kit and works great.
