HYMER S820,LUXURY MOTORHOME,SALVAGE,DAMAGED,WRITE OFF,HYMER S 820 | eBay

too bad Peter Hambilton is retiring.......he'd fix this in a jiffy.
new w/screen..... £4 -5 K..??
bit of tin bashing & new side panel...... £1 K...??
probable new fuel tank......used £150... ??
transport from Poland....£...????
if I were younger & not disabled....might think about it (ex mechanic).
could be a nice van for someone.....
though shudder to think of the paperwork involved with DVLA.
your thoughts ...???

looks expensive for a 16 year old Motorhome with lots of repairs required.
I reckon you could find a ready to roll one around the same age for around same or a little more

Undamaged would probably sell for £25K so a bit pricey considering all the repairs needed.

I would be worried about the windscreen aperture and WHY the screen has gone. If distorted in any way you might not get a new screen in. Same with the hab door, that or the frame may well be bent. Wouldn't touch it with a s***ty stick tbh :)

You are way out on the value. I know because I was idly looking at S820 prices last year.

Well fair enough, sounds a lot compared to the 20-25K asking prices for other, smaller Hymers of the same vintage, I still wouldn't touch it with a s**tty stick though! :)

I saw this add 6 months ago, same price.
Talking to a s820 owner who has a road going immaculate one that he can't get £25k for, not even a viewing, it comes up on e bay now and then..
There is one near me for £42k and it's been on sale for a couple of years.
I would say to forget about it .....

Reinforces the old saying Hymer or heap it is only worth what someone is prepared to pay ,,the armchair pundits who have no intention of buying there opinions of little value

THe classic bike car scene is a good example

An 820 is kind of on my wishlist, do you have any contact info for the one at 25k?

Cheers, Steve

Cat B break only.Usually only sold to uk registered breskers.
That explains there being no logbook available - been sent by insurer to DVLA (assuming UK reg as RHD) as scrapped.

If anyone buys this as a repairable they have been done!
