Yes, Scottish independence would certainly cancel out any time saved by hs2, crossing a hard border would take at least half an hour. Tarrifs on 80% of current exports should at least mean that the trains would not be crowded by people on business. It would mean Scots don't have to pay for vanity projects that do nothing for them. It is cheaper to fly than to use trains, and EU membership would mean far less tariffs than a brexiteer England would have to pay. (that's if brexit actually happens)

(that's if brexit actually happens) An independent Scotland would far from qualify for EU membership on budget deficit and national debt requirements alone. Politicians claiming otherwise are merely misleading the uninformed in their lust for power, with no consideration of the hardship that the loss of their main market would cause to ordinary people. Better to read up on EU entry requirements and not be misled I think.

In the same statement, the Commission reiterated Mr Junckerโ€™s earlier comment that โ€œAll but two of our Member States are required and entitled to join the euro once they fulfil all conditions.โ€ Now why would Juncker bother to say that if we weren't able to join in the first place?

Yes the SNP tried to stop the tram (vanity) project but contracts were in place etc . Edinburgh has a great bus service still not convinced we need(ed) the trams . HS2 is a con job on a whole different level . Recent revelations exposing , basically , corruption at the highest level have barely received attention . The brexit fiasco has definitely been good for those involved . They got a bit of attention tonight. Billions wasted, more has already been wasted on HS2 than was spent on the other two London centric Xrail projects apparently. For once I'm with BloJo, scrap the damned thing now.

Old news. But still completely relevant when considering if Scotland would have any chance of admission to the EU.

Totally irrelevant actually, and based on utter nonsense re Scotland's status. But you'll know better than this guy. The article was in a SNP hating newspaper by the way. https://www.scotsman.com/news/people/independent-scotland-could-join-eu-relatively-comfortably-says-edinburgh-law-professor-1-5022787

Read This article carefully to understand how far Scotland is from meeting EU requirements. Germany is never going to take in a country in a worse financial state than even Greece, especially one which seems intent on accelerated borrowing indefinitely. Additionally, new entrants are required to use the Euro, and Scotland is not even close to meeting the Convergence Requirements I do find it annoying that the SNP leadership instill such false hopes of EU membership in their devotees.

So you know more than a law professor that an anti independence paper gave half a page to destroy the nonsense you have put forward? Wow, you're a miss to the world of politics mate.. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Tell me, do you believe BloJo too?

Pack mentality is a phenomenon in which people make decisions based upon the actions of others, sometimes without even realizing it. It stems from the animalistic drive to want to fit in. http://inpathybulletin.com/pack-mentality/
