The current problems in the UK are making the news in Australia, so just hope that everyone is OK - safe and undamaged.

I was in London today... Kings Cross area. Everything very normal. The riots are extremely localised but devastating of course for the shop-owners and properties affected.

I am a bit worried about our member 'Old Arthur' from Doncaster.

Apparently hundreds of youths ran amok in Doncaster town centre last night. The damage is estimated to be nearly £5.

heard two young women being interviewed on the radio news yesterday.They said they thought the looting and mayhem were great. when asked why they said it showed " them with money what we can do". Dont they realise it"s the people with money who work and ultimately pay their benefits every week?

I heard the interview on the BBC site.

It was like something straight out of Lauren Cooper:

"This riotings great tho' " "Innit tho' " "Yeah free alcohol" "We're showing the rich and people with businesses we can do what we like"

Most small business owners are not rich, they are struggling to make a living in many cases.
