Hello, I'm not really a new member but this is the first time I've posted as I usually just have a look at what other people are saying but this time I need some specific advice about a stopover south of Newcastle but I don't know where to start! Some advice please?

Do you have a specific place in mind or just looking for one? Google Street view is great for checking out new places. Or someone may recommend one,, I don't know that area too well myself.

Hi, thanks for responding so quickly, it's actually just anywhere on the way south, we live in Aberdeen and want to be in York on Saturday 14th so need somewhere in between for Friday 13th, preferably two thirds of the way down and not too far from motorway, open to all suggestions!

Don't know of any wilding spots but Croft WMC has a very basic campsite..we've stayed here before for rock n roll nights. It's near Darlington and not too far from the A1 Here's a link Croft WMC Give Keith the owner a ring to book/enquire

From Aberdeen to Boulmer is 220 miles, which leaves you about 130 miles on the second day - and the wildcamp at Boulmer (see the Northumberland forum on this site) is a very good one. Have a good trip.

Just off the A1 in Gateshead is a set back car park, just off the A694.
