I've gone for a new post with this article; it's really worth a read, and largely positive towards motorhome traffic. It sums up the cautious approach taken up here, while recognising that visitors are necessary to economy. Similar concerns all the way to Cornwall!
I haven't ventured out yet, but hopefully on a hill trip soon if the weather picks up☔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😊🌅🙏

Kylesku bridge. There is a poi on the northern side, stopped there many times.
Aye. I pulled up there a few years back. Just something really nice about the sweeping curve of the deck.

Yup, I really am a nerd!!

I was always annoyed I didn't get to play around on more of the rural Scottish bridges with work. That said, I had fun going through the inside of a bridge at Dornoch, then, when I was sitting outside after, some local military aircraft were blowing up bits of a small island nearby as I tucked into ham and cheese sarny.

We want your money but please stay away. Please stay away but come cos we need yer money. Hmmmm all very peculiar. I don't think I will bother the folk of Scotland again for a good while and I will keep my money all to myself.

I walked across the bridge from where that photo was taken there’s actually another parking spot on the other side not visible from main rd and more suited for a one night stopover. With a cracking wee pub restaurant.

Surely its not unusual for people to want opposing things. Its called a double bind. I want to travel but don't want to risk getting Covid 19 etc

Mid nineties I was up and on the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, my mate was running the show for RigBlast, who had the contract to blast and repaint the structure. there were issues with hairline cracks and corrosion showing through the cracks and wanted to know if weldable. AMEY were and still are maintenance contractor for all three bridges now (license to print money)as us tax payers carry the cost burden.

I was impressed with the rail bridge, although very badly corroded. I also have at work, 8"x 8" angle section of windbracing and one section of what was a vertical rai,l bottom flattened by blacksmith for fixing to main structure, other end formed to create an eyelet where rope passed through, which was basically all that saved anyone falling 100+ metres into the Forth below o_O

I have these pieces at work, I use them as an example of corrosion with steel work, maybe I should put them on ebay, bridge porn for you Hex :ROFLMAO:

Mmmmm.. lovely.. :)
