Hi Guys i need your help please! Ive got a 2001 Fiat Ducato Hymer Swing 494 its rated at 1.5 Tons i think?

well ive come to change my front passanger side Bearing,, ive been to the Auto shop given my Reg Number & it gives me a certain wheel bearing kit!! its the wrong Bearing Kit!!! ive tried 2 different Bearings one rated at 1.25 tons the next at 1.5 tons plus!! neither fit my Fiat Ducato!!!!!! i think the Bearings have been beefed up to take the Hymer body,, So how do i find the right Bearing to this van please!!!!!!!!

Many thanks Ricco,,,,

If you take out the bearing and take it to a bearing supplier(hopefully you have one close by) they will sort you. Done this myself on a few occasions including a few weeks ago for some needle bearings.

Have you tried taking them the old one to match up? I have found specialist bearing guys are quite often able to do that, after all, there are only so many variations on a theme.

Edit:
Doh! got delayed with my reply & pipped to the post!!

You mention 2 types of bearing. I believe that there are 3 possible types, the heaviest duty being used on motorhomes.

As mentioned, just take the bearing with you. Alternatively, get the bearing number and buy one from a bearing specialist. It will possibly be cheaper than from a Fiat dealer.

Just a thought, but in the olden days bearings used to have identification marks on the edge of the outer ring of the bearing. Might be worth a try.:king:

Many thanks Guys that is a great help Cheers all & all,

All the very best Ricco,,,

I had 2 bearings to replace and found it takes a 10 ton press to remove the bearings and not all garages have these. in the end took it to a specialised truck/van company. they told me it is a weak link of front wheeled vans they, did one the week before on a brand new van!
