Going to be a big bill

Dropped the beast off to get the defective Trauma heater fixed.
Stick a new charge controller in as well, stress test gaslow system, fit new leisure batteries.

Place your bets.
Interestingly or not
We call ours the BEAST ..most unfairly

Tired of jump starting it after three or four weeks of sitting idle.
Solar panel will be able to trickle charge starter battery. A thing that most modern rigs will probably do as a matter of course.

Lot depends where it went. Some of these professional  charge astronomic prices.

My MOT is next month I’m hoping it’s a cheap one after the engine rebuild in September but probably not as I defo need 2 tyres and a rear light cluster. But fingers crossed.

I bet the Truma turns out to be the biggest expense. Though it could be batteries if you specified 'leisure' batteries. Anytime the L word comes up, so does the price.

Best of luck.

Cheers

I have had a bad charging system for a long time. Driving does not charge my leisure batteries. Relying on solar only.
Was OK during 24 hour daylight in Norway. Reason why we could not last two days in December in the UK.

Not worried about bill really. Still a cheap way to explore the world.

All fixed.
Boiler was just being over sensitive with crappy electrical setup.
Now have a fancy Bluetooth Victron charge controller and a split charger along with two new batteries.

Not too massive a bill.
