For those of you who purchase a new Motorhome, Campervan or car, GAP Insurance (Guaranteed Asset Protection), and VRI Insurance (Vehicle Replacement Insurance), please note it is generally available for ONLY 180 Days after purchase.
So if you insure with a firm who offer GAP cover as standard and who then dump you for whatever reason after the first year, you have no chance to get this insurance elsewhere.
It happened to me with CaravanGuard who decided my yearly milage was too high to continue to insure me, and Dolmens don't do it.
GAP - the difference in cost between the write off value and the invoice purchase price.
VRI - the difference between the write off value and the cost to replace the vehicle at the standard you purchased including the extras.
