Finally after years of wanting one and our children not wanting to come away with us anymore we bought a camper
Her name is Betty she is old but still fiesty and luckily one of us is a mechanic as she needs a lot of upkeep one of us works in a care home and the last 18 months has been full on so time away is precious
On a tight budget so looking for cheaper ways to travel
Looking for places from Swansea- St David's and beyond from 11th - 18th July
Suggestions most welcome

Hi and welcome, don't know much / anything about that area. Have you looked at the points of interest ?
Someone local will be along soon I think

Welcome to the Forum.

We rather liked 'Mewslade View' Middleton, Rhossili, Swansea, Swansea, SA3 1PJ. It's a sloping site on the Gower that's just above a secluded beach. It's a short walk to the Worms Head Hotel via quiet a footpath, and there are coastal & inland footpaths everywhere.

It's run by Mrs Howe on 01792-390560 who couldn't have been more helpful.

If you want to see it on Google Maps, then 51.56659, -4.27702

The Gower is tops! Then onto St.Davids and up to Snowdon, Caernarfon and onto a tour of Anglesey. Come back into England via Wallasey and Liverpool then up to the lakes! The beauty goes on and on. I bought our van upon retirement 14 years ago. The world was our oyster. Then our daughter decided to have a family, whereupon the wife decided to be a child minder. Our beautiful grandchildren are now 16, 13 and 8 and the childminding is over. But heh, now the wife cat sits whilst the daughter and family go on holiday.
Am I using the wrong soap or what?

I can't help with wilding but I can suggest a few sites...

Pembrey Country Park - there is a C&MC site just outside the Park plus another independent one which is inside. We have stayed at the C&MC site which was very good. Lovely place to go: great cycling inside the Park and its on the Millennium Way so you can walk/ride down to Burry Port and Llanelli too; plus it's on the coast with ample beach walking opportunities.

This place https://southwalescaravansite.co.uk/ as a base for visiting Swansea and perhaps Trostre shopping mall and Pendine etc. Lovely little site run by Hywel and Catrin. Couldn't find more helpful people if you tried.

We stayed here here https://www.porteynon.com/ when we last went to Gower. Right on the beach and in the village of Port Eynon. Would recommend.

Further west we recently stayed near Newport (Pembs) but next time we go we will stay at this site https://www.campsite-pembrokeshire.co.uk/ as it is right on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path; close to a resto; and 5 mins walk into Newport itself. We stayed at Llwyngwair Manor which is around a mile or so outside of Newport, which was a nice place but too far for us to walk into town.

We spotted this campsite near St Davids https://caerfaibay.co.uk/ and intend to stay there later this year if we can. we haven't stayed here bit the views from their pitches look spectacular.
