Filled our gaslow bottles today in Etruria, Stoke on Trent. 61p per litre that was with the vat knocked off because it was for cooking and heating.

John.

There is a Calor dealer in Newcastle that sells Autogas at a very cheap price (only 5% vat for heating).

The only problem is that I cannot get close enough to the pump with my van.:cry:

Hi Trikerman, I use Gaslow all the time but had no idea you can get the vat reduced. Can you explain how it works please?

Whats the deal with Gaslow, is this amoney saving exercise that I'm unaware of as I'm using the calor gas propane bottles at the moment. I only run my twin hob off the bottle at thee moment but was looking into running a fridge off the same bottle. I think it's the 6Kg bottle I'm using but with the addition of a fridge would be looking to a bigger bottle.

Any advice please.

Squibby.

hi.some gas filling stations can charge you 5% vat instead of the full amount. garages usualy dont let you have it. i get calor gas at 5%vat.
as to gas low i thinkthey are a rip off. get a gas bottle filler from ebay. about 30 quid.
shall i get my crash hat on now low flyin comments.
there are a few refillable gas bottle systems on the market.
all exchange bottles are refilable . just some like to not let you do it.

I use an autogas station and this time when I had my bottles filled the owner just said it would be cheaper with the vat because it was used for cooking and heating, and not to run a vehicle on.
