experience of freestanding awnings?

Leo is a hitop Boxer panel van conversion and think I would love a freestanding awning for him. I do have a Fiamma zip-on porch/outdoor room thing but I can't reach the top of the sides to zip it up properly - even standing on a table and by the time I've put it up the last thing I want to do is take it down each day!! I'm on my own much of the time apart from the dog, but he's not much help here. Does anyone know how difficult it might be to erect a 3 hoop type of awning? I'm looking at the Rodeo Sprint Annexe Campervan Awning. Anyone know it?
Thanks and a Happy New Year of Camping to you all.

Hi, We have a Kyham motordome classic awning and it is a dream to put up, while i am setting everything up to make a brew my hubby sorts the awning out and it goes up like a giant umbrella. It is pretty good in windy weather as well and the classic is really roomy. Hope that this helps. Ellen

Used to use a Sirius 3 hoop job with the old T4. No real hassle to put up, only problem was that it was German and set up for starboard sliding door.

Free standing awnings

Well, after a great deal of pondering I finally bought a 4 hoop style awning for my Boxer High Top. Whilst I cannot attach it to the van in the manner that it was designed for I can just loop the guy ropes over the top and peg them down - brilliantly simple and easy. This type of awning is a doddle and very robust so I'm delighted with my choice. Thanks to all who offered advice.

I can attach mine to the van but find it not worth faffing about when its so quick and easy just to throw the guys over the the top.

We have a fiamma wind out awning and a freestanding drive away awning. We wind out the fiamma to a reachable height, slide the drive away fixing kit (a figure of 8 attachment) into the channel at the front of the fiamma, slide the sleeve of the awning onto that, then wind the fiamma back in. Saves carrying steps or standing on tables, etc. I got the drive away attachment of e-bay for £19.99
