Eurotunnel

Anyone know the best place to park for the Eurotunnel on the French side? A couple of people have suggested the Auchan carpark but I wonder how safe it is? We're going in October.
Thanks

We were there in July and parked by the docks where the ferries come in. There were probably nearly 80 vans there parked up for the night and we felt very safe there. It was only 10 minutes from the tunnell too.

The last time we parked near the Ferries it was full of pik@ys & found it really intimidating.

Near docks always too crowded. If for one night then use Euro Cities motor home park. basic but free. and toilets shower etc in Euro City itself as soon as it open in morning.

Hi Bruce
Do you mean the Cité europe shopping centre? We're only there for one night so basic is fine, then we head for the Loire valley.

We have stayed a few times on the car park at Cite de Europe, they have one carpark with a motorhome sign next to the coach park. When we were there in May we saw a couple of of guys climb underneath the back of a British coach. Saw the driver in the shopping centre & warned him he had picked up a couple of extra passengers. Wouldn't fancy the Auchan in Calais for the night but often stayed at the Auchan near Boulogne, it is just off the motorway & very quiet at night, also you can pick up the wifi if you park near to McDonalds.

I Stayed overnight at Euro Cite last week, its very safe and 2 minutes walk from the Supermarket, just follow the signs for Camping Cars!

We usually stay in Veurne in Belgium, yes it's a fair way, but the beer is great and there's beaches on the way to walk the dog.

Yes that's the one, we have used it many times, once for 2 days when it was too doggy to travel because of deep snow. Great having all the services in Cite Europe on your door step.

Hello, we usually stop at Cap Grizs Nez, in the actual car park leading to the beach - there are about six designated spots, but at night it's empty anyway. Never had any problmes and it's only a short drive to the tunnel.

Wissant is close and good, Gravelines no more than 30 minutes away, why park in a car park?
