I know a lot of you folks have been to Carcasonne. Well worth the trip. They have proper parking for MH's in a paid car park and there is another spot around the corner on open ground. I park across the river's edge and walk to the castle called Le Cite. Very quiet and by the river bank. Table and chairs come out (but no awning) and lovely to hear the rush of water and watch the bird life. I took the above picture with zoom from where the MH was parked. To get to this parking spot away from the tourist, cross the bridge, you must turn right then take the very first right down a narrow street. This leads you straight on to the car park. There are barriers there. If one is swung over get your Mrs to push it back so you can drive in. The road running along the river bank is a bit steep, so you need your ramps for the front wheels. To go out, carry further on and do the same if the barrier is half closed.

Quite a climb to the castle, but great once inside. A lot to see and enjoy a lovely evening here. I spent a week here just to wind down. Get there after 17:00 hrs as it could be full with cars. It is used for day parking by the French who work in the town. It is free and absolutely no hassle. Bins only. Must be self sufficent.
