Dovedale

Has anyone visited dovedale lately, I stayed in the car park about 15 yrs ago, paid, i think 40p, a nice chap came over and asked me if i was stopping over, i said i might, he said that was fine as long as i popped myself over in the corner once the car park had emptied, (argh those were the days) does anyone know if there are restrictions now?

I have no idea to your question Jen .... but your choice of location is superb.

After Loughrigg Tarn in the lakes , Dovedale is up there as a favourite spot.

I do hope it is posssible you can wild there

Dovedale is as lovely as ever, but the only car park is privately owned, with signs up saying cars only, closes 8pm. I was there last month (parked in the next village as I went in on my bike intending to cycle through dovedale, but the path is so bad it was easier to walk most of the way.) There were only cars on the car park, a couple of motorhomes parked in the road outside in the coaches only lay by. Sorry thats not what you want to hear.

No Bernard, thats really usefull thank you for that, i dont mind staying in the layby, but i suspected the car park would be a no go area anyway, i'm still going to go, thanks agen
