I’m getting a new van in early April which is flitted with a SOG vent, not had one before.

Do they work or should I still be adding the bio tablets I normally use?

I hope the wind keeps coming from the north :scared: we`ll put up with the cold :rolleyes2:

Happy new van

Yes they work and I have had one for years. I use it, as is, with no additional chemicals which was the whole point. You do realise that this thread will go on for ages now with the many for and against, a bit like ******.

No well Yes

I don't have one so No they don't wok at all, but if I had one then Yes they're a great aid! :rolleyes2:

My Thetford toilet has a built-in fan and carbon filter, so no pipe to disconnect. The only thing I find annoying is the fan noise of a night when you get up for a pee. It is basically a small server fan so quite noisy.

Dunno why but this thread reminded me of the guys who thought they were siphoning fuel from someone's MH but stuck the hose into the wrong hole and sucked up a mouthful of excrement and pee instead.
Poetic justice indeed.

Shouldn`t that be Pooooooooooetic justice :lol-049:

Change the filters regularly it helps greatly. Unfortunately some owners mustn't know about filters or just don't care as its not them smelling it. Been parked in the vicinity of one when in use is like having a farting dog in the van. If you have your doors or windows open.

I have the same , fan has stopped working butno great issue, Spoke to the Thetford guy at the NEC suggested it maybe water in the fan, it's not a fuse otherwise the pan wouldn't flush.

I'm going to leave it as it is for the moment.

Yes they work, change the filter every ten years but try to park next to wooie just before changing it 😅

Farting dog ? Has my Jack Russell strayed into your camper ? sorry, he's getting on, 15 in July, poor eyesight and he has lots of senior moments these days.
I often have to retrieve him from other camper's steps or inside looking puzzled.

Sorry I meant to say wet farting dog that's been rolling around in pig sh=t.

I suppose they are alright if you don't park near anyone and you change the filters etc. We had a MH with one pull up next to us at Canterbury what a stink ..

It would appear SOGs are fine inside your van , if you have one .
