Chinese Heater Case

Today I was looking through my box of heater parts and I noticed the lug on one of the cases was hanging off so with a little help from me waggling it soon broke free. While I had it in my hand I thought it would be interesting to see if it was fire retardant so with the aid of a gas lighter I set about the experiment 'Would it burn?'. Without too much time it was soon alight and giving off a rather obnoxious smell. I don't know if the German heaters are made of the same material but I certainly was surprised how quick this caught on fire.

that is worrying (but not that surprising TBH). (I think I recognise that lug. one of the many broken parts and arrived like that)

There is plenty of fire-retardent plastic-based material out there and it would have been easy to make it out of something resistant.
