Now what do i do many of you know that i had a problem with a company over there about a scooter rack well it all got sorted out in the end and i got my money back. but it ended up getting a bit personnel on both sides so i will sort that out when i come over his year The company told
me to dispose of the rack to save the cost of shipping it back.As i could not get it approved and the stamp in the log book it was no good to me, so when my Spanish friend who had helped me so much to try and get it approved ask if he could have it i said yes as he was willing to take a
Chance with it. Any way he has just returned to the village from his holidays to say that the weld on one of the arms snapped and left his scooter dragging on the floor. So do i pay for the repairs to the scooter or just say sorry to here that and possibly lose a friend.
And please this is not another pop at the company

scooter rack?

hi ken
difficult this one if he's a real good friend i'd agree to pay half the cost.
but normally it's sold as seen,if he's helped you with the rack before he knows all about the rack.

has the scooter been over the weight limit for the rack?

good luck:wave:

pragmatically its his problem,in the same way as if he'd bought it secondhand it was down to him to check it out. morally he's a mate and you should offer to help and hope he's enough of a mate to realise it's his prob and refuse!

Was not sold and it was the same weight scooter that i had ordered the rack for.
Thanks

Hi Ken,

If it was a freebee and he new it was not up to Spanish standards but he decided to use it anyway. I really don't think you have any responsibility for what happens.

I have tonight Richard offered to pay for the repairs but he said no so we agreed to pay half each. And where do you think this all happened?
On the way back from Scotland about 80miles were it was made if only i knew that before i would have told him to take it back to the company now he has given me a form to fill in and send to the Police were he brought it from and the paper work on it witch i cant find as it is all with to the lawyer. So more fun this week getting that. ken

Scooter rack made by???

I would be interested to know who made the rack, just so that I can avoid the company in question. I know that Watling Engineers near St. Albans supply and fit Witter and other brand scooter and bike racks, but they will only sell you what they know to be satisfactory from an engineering point of view..... :scooter::scooter::scooter:
