Blanking off manifold compression end

Anyone know the best way of blanking off the other side of a manifold? It's a 2 way manifold, so I don't know why they don't provide some sort of blanking nut. I bought an 8mm end cap but that means I need to have a copper pipe coming from the joint to blank off, surely there's a better way?
