He ran his last brand new car for 16 years so if this one lasts as long it`s not too bad
We had a new 18 plate last March and the first thing I did was replace with our private plate.
No body knew it was new:idea-007:
Our 9 year old car which we did buy new, passed another MOT this week. I did not expect it to fail as it only has just over 20K miles on the clock and the tester has previously told me, it is one of the cleanest he has ever seen.
Also, reinsured with I hate to say with Saga for £240, fully comp and including UK full recovery!
Nothing like the smell of a new car especially an expensive one then after a week the smell gose along with the smile used to change cars more than my socks thought it was a good economy buy a nice top of the range car trade it in every year never bought a tyre or an mot for 15 years or paid a mechanic once so was good for me at the time especially if you bought the right car at the right time cash with a decent discount don’t think that’s possible nowadays actually worked out cheaper than running old clappers.
True as after xmas 4 year old cars at auction go for buttons here as dealers move them on and will not sell retail in case probs with expensive brains etc to which they would have to foot the repair bill.
My new to me car at this age with 27 thu on clock one owner bought for £1.900 cash in hand,no one wants cars here over 3/4 years old, have to keep up with the jones.
I was thinking that a while back but …. if people buy cars with the knowledge and intention of getting shot within 2-3 years, they will not bother taking any real care of them I would think. Cheap Second Hand, but likely shagged and in poor nick.WOW that sounds a good bargain..........sounds as tho thats the place to go for secondhand deal
Thought we might order one of these tomorrow but ..
Swift Kon-tiki Dynamic :: Swift Group
Only available from Brownhills and priced from £146,490 .. Bit expensive for a Swift ..
I thought your were telling a joke when you mentioned £147,000 for a SWIFT, seems not!
In the 15 years i had my last car i spent nout as had most of if any parts in stock from cars i dismanteled, parts changed,g/box and clutch 2hr job, pads shoes, rear w cylinders, rear wheel bearings, one front bearing, ball joints and track rod ends ,stearing rack boots, exhaust, jobs that any school boy could do,which reminds me how many of you lot did car maintenance at school,or were you all pen pushers.
Thought we might have a wander over today and see if they have one in stock. Not holding my breath but as they are the only supplier you would have thought they would. How else are they going to sell them. Our Laika was supplied by Southdowns in Portsmouth they have Concordes in stock @ £245,000 a piece.

It’s not the price, it’s the price for a Swift that shocked me.
That reminds me ... I did actually buy a "used" car that was brand new in all but name - registered the day before I collected it, so I was the 2nd owner (it had to be registered to Garage first for their Dealer Kickback) - but a good bargain as it was ordered by a Motability client that eventually changed their mind.3 year old mark Motability cars are a good bet, full service history and remedial work done ,the cars are graded once defleeted and supermarket kisses removed etc
A lot tend to be the smaller mPVS and few have had adaptations
Channa
I picked up a brand new car, removed the rear seats, fitted the dog cages and set off for a dog walk with that nice new car smell to breathe. We were caught in a thunderstorm and drove home with that smell of wet dogs.![]()
