90 miles of "snow roads" to drive in Scotland.....

I do hope that this isn't going to get any busier in the winter.

Snow seems to be decreasing around there in recent years though so the skiing is on the decline so I suppose they have to push tourism in other ways. Cairngorm Mountain is on it's knees at the moment so you can't blame them.

Like the info on that website quite a lot of useful stuff for getting out in winter. We were up at Glencoe for the weekend it was national snow day guess what nae snow but we still went up the mountain using the chairlifts and the wee yin did some sledding on the bit of snow that was there talking to the staff they seem to be suffering but they’ve now had to do other stuff like mountain bike trails hiring small lodges and bunkhouse for west highland way. We used one of the hook up pitches £15 so pointless not to if available at this time of year.

Cairngorms needs all the support it can get at the moment, or the future could look a lot bleaker.

Keep away! I live there and don’t want anybody else on my roads!

Selfish Tony

I heard a rumour there's a meet being arranged round Tony's place.

Anybody else up for it? :)

Dreadful area for a meet. Always raining and windy. Midges everywhere even in winter. No scenery to speak of. Hate living here.

Yup, I don't live there but I hate to go there.

Just a couple of weeks ago I was forced to have a drink in the Cairngorm hotel in Aviemore. Midges were awful, as you say wet and windy and a featureless landscape. Wouldn't go back there if you paid me.

(well not 'til february)

These roads absolutely dont incorporate some of my top ten cycling routes EVER and are therefore totally unsuited to traffic. The NC500 is far more exciting! Head for that.
