I do this to all of ours Trev, also the rooflights to stop them sticking after being closed a long timeSmear the rubber seals with vasoline, i do this on my cars and never had any more trouble.
Talc and chalk powder also works on the seals and don't mess your clothes up as much
I get the frozen bin lids a lot. What I do is just whack each corner down with a fist and that breaks the ice seal.Outdoor bin lids frozen shut this morning.
Need a crowbar to prise them open
