  1. Panel van conversion

Mercedes commercials weren't 'galvanised' before the late 90s either I'm afraid, as many found to their cost including me.
  2. Panel van conversion

If it comes with a sliding door, keep it, doesn't have to be used. Can even be used to access underseat storage from the exterior. Not usually worthwhile to seal up permanently. Some PVC conversions use the rear barn doors as the main access to the hab area, usually just using the leading leaf...
  3. Motorbike replacement

In Londistan Trev. the usual way to get a scoot nowadays is to show the point of a knife, saves paying anything.
  4. Motorbike replacement

Times past you could overnight on that quayside no problem, but not something you can readily do nowadays, unless lucky. The garage site (Anibals) an aire of sorts, has good facilities but no views, OK for a night or 2, never stayed there myself but sometimes decant my cassette and fresh water...
  5. Motorbike replacement

I have a 125 Yamaha and a 650 Honda, I find the Honda much safer on any road with HGVs running at their max. permitted speed, (which is rarely below their legal max.) very few 125s will run comfortably at 65mph which is what you need to keep between trucks, let alone overtake. But it's the 125 I...
  6. Hot Water Options

No it doesn't, nice if it did for £425! But going for separate systems you have a lot of options on the space heating side of things, eg diesel Eberspacher or cheap Chinese copy, Whale/Propex gas fan, Truma gas fan and//or convection, take your pick! Plenty s/hand on eBay of course.
  7. Motorbike replacement

    Is that background Aguilas?
  8. Hot Water Options

The simple solution is the Truma 10L gas/mains electric boiler £425? 2 heat settings, with a Shurflo 12v pump. If you look at Streetsleepers Thread on the Motorhomers site "LPG Tankless Water Heaters." He's sourced and about to fit an instantaneous wall mounted type only £60 or so. You have to...
  9. Motorbike replacement

The Yamaha Tricity 125cc liquid cooled looks a good all round proposition, don't think it can be ridden on a car licence though (wheels spaced too close I guess). Seems to be the most popular choice of the motorhoming French 3 wheeler riders in my experience if that's any recommendation.
  10. Registration number on roof

Make yourself some pee proof underpants from vinyl letters for next time Trev.
  11. IDP and green card.

They'll get at least a fiver off you for doing nothing, so why not?
  12. No parking for us.

I have a feeling we're going round in an endless loop on this one. Make that a Mobius Loop!
  13. Registration number on roof

I wouldn't want it back, I'll just put some politician's reg. number on it, hope they don't note the reg, plates and so gets dumped outside their house!
  14. Registration number on roof

How big do the letters have to be to be seen from the space, because I'm contemplating getting them made up in Russian numerals and letters as well English, just to be sure. Yep I know, Cyrillic.
  15. campervans banned

Bus lanes are not intended for campers? Can't argue with that. Seems there may be some ambiguity, perhaps it needs to be made obviously unambiguous with better, clearer signage, and then the imposition of a more serious €400 euro fine, so miscreants don't take the piss and make it more likely...
  16. Morocco Bound

Blame the internet and why not, they see that the weather's so good here a house isn't a necessity! It's those UK holiday sites showing palm trees on 'The English Riviera' ........Cornwall, just like home.
  17. Morocco Bound

Console yourself, I know plenty of Moroccans whom would swap places with you any time, and that's a fact! Oh Ok, maybe they'd prefer to wait until you know what gets resolved if ever if ever it does!
  18. No parking for us.

The point I was making is that motorhoming matters figure low in my list of things to be overly concerned over, provision of a local A&E dept. and local cancer ward on the other hand rate highly, The installation of height barriers to prevent access by the travelling community answers part of...
  19. No parking for us.

A good summation into what is required, unfortunately I suspect other Motorhomers are like myself, in that motorhoming is something we're not that committed to, not to the extent that giving it up would be so calamitous, or that spending what could involve a lot of time and effort on fighting...
  20. Morocco Bound

I think I said in an earlier post that to many of us, the inland cities are generally more interesting than the coastal. If you get to Fez you'll find the medina and souks are easy to get lost in. I haven't visited enough times not to still get lost, been round in circles and I was sober at the...
