Hi All
Well we have sold our motorhome and this Easter we will be driving from Calais down to Southern Spain in my Van with a tent in the back (eventually we will get a van conversion but a tent will have to do for time being). On the 24th March we will be in/around Clermont Ferrand and I am...
Hello all
Our van that has taken us to the south of Spain 3 times a year is now for sale as we are moving to Spain and we are going to try living with a van conversion.
Here is the Ebay link - I would be happy to negotiate a bit more on the price to see it go to a fellow wild camping member...
Hello
We always travel on the Eurotunnel but living in Suffolk I have been looking at the Harwich to Hook of Holland ferry and from there driving down to Granada. The thought of avoiding the M25 and Dartford crossing is quite appealing but I was wondering what driving from the port in Holland...
Hi All
We are in Tarragona now and we usually get our dog wormed in Le Boulou but we are thinking of taking a slower route home. Are the vets in La Mailleraye open all week and does anyone know the opening times? is it likely that we would get a same day appointment there?
Many Thanks
James
Thank you for all the suggestions and feedback - It has been really helpful and I now have my route planned. Found lots of nice Aires and looking forward to staying in Anglet. Only question mark is staying around Burgos but we can sort that out on the way down. After Burgos we head to Madrid (to...
Hi all
I am currently planning our route down to Granada, we leave in a week :cool1::cool1:
Usually we would go down the A75 or the A9 but I would quite like to try the West coast route - As we are in a very slow and old van I would be interested to find out what the A63 is like crossing the...
Another vote of "Valencia Camper Park" we always stop of here on our way to Granada - roughly £15 a night and you get a free glass of Sangria for that. Bar is a bit expensive but they also sell fresh bread etc. Nice stop over :)
Hi all
We are driving down to Spain about two days before Brexit and return a few weeks after Brexit. In the case of a No Deal I enquired with our vets about possible issues returning with our dog.
This was there reply: - maybe useful if you are also travelling at similar time.
"This is...
Received the Xgody and I must say I am really impressed, sure its not as intuitive to use as the TomTom or Garmin but it is a very nice piece of mapping software. Love the "simplest" route option, have used it locally and its been excellent. Very clear mapping and instructions, will even show...
Hi
I use Expressvpn and it worked fine in Spain for BBC iplayer, You can select many different UK locations if one gets blocked and they support OpenVPN which is a stealth version and undetectable and works perfectly for me on Linux.
I would highly recommend and they have great customer support.
We travel over to Europe for about 4 months of the year, in 1 month and 2 month blocks. Ideally I would like Pay as you go as I already have a contract with 15gb data allowance with Three.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far, the global internet device is starting to look pricey compared to...
Hi all
We have decided that next year we would like to have some form of internet when we travel. It would be handy for the kids in the evening when they want to relax and be easier for route planning for us. In addition once we get to Spain it would be really handy to have internet available...
You sold me, Just ordered an Xgody 886 and will test it out this spring down to Spain and over to Devon in a few weeks. It has mixed reviews but mainly down to ease of use, im happy using Linux OS so happy learning a bit if it isnt too intuitive. Fingers crossed all works out, I will report back...
We travel 2 or 3 times a year down the the south of Spain with two young kids and a mad Springer Spaniel in our old (1989) transit motorhome. Each time we travel we are slowly getting more efficient at what we take. We are also learning how to make the journey as enjoyable for everyone as...
Hi everyone
We drive to the south of Spain 3 or 4 times a year and every time so far we have had either the sat nav routing us down single track farm roads for miles on end to arrive at an Aire next to the motorway we originally came off or complete failure of the satnav due to overheating on...
