What do the various levels and numbers mean?

Here’s a screengrab of one of my Victron graphs. I don’t have a problem to sort out, but I’d like some detail of what is actually being shown

CCSW helping to sell my motorhome.

I have recently purchased a new Hymer MH and needed to sell my beloved Burstner. I attempted to sell it myself privately 5 or 6 months ago, but gave up on that idea quite quickly having to deal with tyrekickers and d*ckheads. And so I turned to one of our members, Steve at CCSW as he is a broker...

    Solar panel calculations

I now have my new Hymer parked outside albeit without any solar panels fitted as the dealer wanted far too much when asked. They also indicated that ‘only’ 115w panels will fit. (bs) After a question on the owners club it is feasible that a lot more can fit, although mine does have a large...

    Strewth, how much!

My new motorhome doesn’t come with solar panels and has little room for them either. Today I got a call from the salesman in response to my question what can the roof take? Hymer’s option list only shows 2x95w panels which I thought was a bit miserly. The dealer only uses Victron, so good news...

What do the various numbers on a MPPT controller mean?

I’ve seen the likes of 75/15 100/30 100/50 and suchlike, what do they mean?

How can you receive TV in the MH by wifi?

It has been suggested that to fit a satellite dish to the roof of the MH in order to be able to watch Sky TV, using the HD box like we have done for several years, is now a big ‘old technology’ and why not do it by way of wifi and a SIM card? can this be explained to me in a simple way as I’m a...

Solar panels, controller, leisure batts, inverter, B2B etc. from a clean sheet

What is the best way forward, starting from a clean sheet and no existing solar of any sort on a brand new MH. It is very likely my next purchase has nothing fitted other than a leisure battery (unknown size, make and AH) that I would not hesitate in removing and making way for something else...

    How best to carry this?

We need a more robust 4 wheel scooter for memsahib as her folding scoot doesn’t do rough ground too well. it is also a pita to store and assemble frequently. This will clearly not fold and go within the MH garage as it is 1280x500x1100 and weighs 110kg 2 options come to mind, a new MH with...

And that will be £175 thank you very much

Animal Health Certificate bollox so miss Molly can travel abroad. Last year I had to rush home from France as we’d had a short time away because I was recovering from heart surgery and so couldn’t find a vet to get an EU Pet passport for her. Apparently there’s a Belgium vet able to supply one...

How reliable are Lithium leisure batteries?

I am changing from the conventional lead/acid leisure batteries to a single Lithium that offers almost 5 times the useable energy for a similar space taken up. I have seen posts from peeps praising their supplier for the fast response when there has been a problem - but that wouldn’t be much...

What washing machine for use in the MH?

As many of you are frequent long term travellers what do you do to keep clothes fresh? The options we’ve used in the past have been very basic, sink wash , wring out manually, and then hang up on a whirligig dryer - or bag it up and carry it home (not a very satisfactory method I know) We've...

Is it “illegal” to wild camp in England?

I very seldom have a need or desire to stopover at all in England as I mostly go direct to France or Scotland. I have, and do however, find a nice quiet spot to stop on those very unusual occasions when I’m in England. I’ll either make use of WC app or p4n to find somewhere my question is - is...

Should I service my fridge? Same q. for the Truma heater

Touch wood, I’ve not had any issues with my fridge/freezer in the MH in all the years I’ve owned it. It is now coming up to 10 years old and I haven’t even looked to see inside the external flue. What should I be looking for, or just leave it well alone as it’s working fine? The same question...

What to use as a spare tyre?

I am going to fit Michelin Cross-Climates all round when I finally make a decision to change from 15” to 16” alloy wheels. An ideal Christmas present to me ;) Then arises the question what shall I do for a spare tyre? I believe they are directional, and so should a spare be needed to be used...

Wanted 16” alloys for 2012 Ducato

As above, I think I want to change from 15” steels and go for alloys for a bit of bling-ness. I’d like any recommendations what to get and/or where to go, or are there any for sale? As I always want to carry a spare then additionally either 5 alloys or a bare steel 16”. Then I’ll keep the 15”...

    Remis screen blinds dropped

Somehow I’ve dislodged the right hand side windscreen Remis blind fitting. It appears that it’s probably come loose from where it’s clipped in place. I’m struggling to get it back together. It has dropped down by about a half inch in total. Is there an obvious fix?

Advice requested to add Camper Contact POIs to Garmin

I’ve done the WC poi download easily, and have done so every year prior to travel. What I want to do is add Camper Contact POIs and icons to my Garmin 760. The downloads from CC were easy enough and I’ve kept them in a secure file away from the downloads on the PC. So I have 2 files of csv...

    Pace 12v Sky tv

Surplus to requirements I have a working Pace 12v Sky box with new remote and a few cables. If you have a satellite dish all it needs is to be connected et voila. Will need a Sky sd card and is not able to work with SkyQ. I’ve been meaning to advertise it for a while but ill health put it on the...

Leisure batteries not charging off alternator - maybe

Alongside my 220w solar panels to charge my leisure batteries I have a Victron Energy Cyrix-CT relay unit that is supposed to send a lot more amps from the alternator when the engine is running. Today I noticed that it doesn’t appear to be working, but I don’t know quite how to prove it. I...

X250 how cold is your air-con?

I’ve got an ongoing problem with my 2011 X250 Ducato cab aircon. I‘ve had it checked and regassed but it really doesn’t want to do cold. Hot fine, cool fine, all through each and every vent, and easily switching between feet only, screen only, centre only, combined, every option and with the...
