From Scotland to England, over Coldstream Bridge.

There we were, my wife and I, standing on the north bank of the River Tweed in Coldstream looking over at the south bank and England. The mighty Tweed has provided a natural border between Scotland and England for centuries. I had driven over the bridge that takes you over the border once...

    Hawick Common Haugh Car Park.

Sometimes in life you witness something that gives you hope for the future, something that in todays world is rare, and something that just has to be admired and applauded. We are just back from Hawick, and spent a night in their large Common Haugh carpark. Towards the far end they have...

2 Banner 100/110AH batteries for sale

Yesterday wildebus (David) replaced two Banner 100/110AH lead batteries in our Motorhome with lithium batteries. I now have two of these batteries which to all intents for purpose have never been used. We have not made any trips with the new van yet. These batteries sell for £150 each from...

    Music switch on new Ducato

The new van has a switch which allows you to use the media system with the ignition off. Does anyone know if you are then using the hab batteries rather than the vehicle battery.

Removing trim studs from bottom of rear door

I have watched several YouTube videos of folk insulating their rear doors, but the trim studs on my van are different. I am beginning to think once these ones are removed they simply have to be replaced. Has anyone ever removed the ones on the bottom panel. The top ones are a doddle, but not...

    New van

After over two years of waiting we are heading up to Perth this morning to look over our new van. It only arrived last Friday, but the registration process which now takes 3-4 weeks was started a week ago, so we should be ready to go first half of December. In all that time apart from the NEC...

Outsmart the thief trackers and alarms and insurance approval.

I was ready to order a tracker and alarm system from outsmart the thief for the new van. I read about them on MMM and their kit looked good. But when I checked with the insurance company they were happy with the Thatcham grade 1 alarm, but not their tracking system. The insurance. company I use...

    Drink driving in Scotland

Was chatting to a police officer last night who works in traffic. He informed me that a lot of non Scot’s are being prosecuted in Scotland. Most being unaware, or who have forgotten about our lower drink driving limits. I think it’s worth highlighting that the limit in Scotland is much lower...

    Caledonia (Cale)

Some may have noticed that Caledonia has not posted for several weeks. All is fine, he has a lot going on right now in his life. No doubt Cale will inform you all when he gets back, and he will be coming back. I look forward to Cales posts when he decides to post again. And he has a new van...

Great news on the Burntisland car park

I just received this response from Robbie Blythe. As usual Robbie is ahead of the game, and this carpark should be sorted out next year. This country needs more like Robbie, shame about the southern part of the Firth of Forth, run by people who obviously despise us. Anyway here’s the good news...
