  1. A Fridge thread... Wooopeee

Bit of further info after speaking to a retired refrigeration engineer. In 'Absorbtion' fridges, which moho fridges mainly are, the 'liquid' in the system is made up of two components which heating separates & then they 're-absorb'. It is common for these type of fridges, at times, to NOT...
  2. A Fridge thread... Wooopeee

Thanks guys & I think I understand this. The fact that if fridge is not cooling then Thermistor will keep telling heat source (gas or ehu) to keep going. What I don't know is why, if heat source is on the refrigerant is not cooling the fridge. The only thing I can come up with is that the...
  3. A Fridge thread... Wooopeee

Yes. Agree. & I'm puzzled too. Only Clues I can offer is to say fridge was not cooling but exterior cooling vanes at rear of fridge were heated & doing their job showing gas & ehu were doing their job also. I'm wondering, & maybe some knowledgeable fridge engineer can advise, if the Thermistor...
  4. A Fridge thread... Wooopeee

My fridge is Thetford N3150. The Thermistor (pt nmbr - 623077 & bought via leisureshop. £27) is very simply clipped onto the 5th or 6th cooling vane in the main fridge cooling compartment. Held in place with a spring metal clip & at the other end easily unplugged from its electrical connection.
  5. A Fridge thread... Wooopeee

Hi Guys. An update. Despite no 'error13' message appearing a new Thermistor has solved the problem. Fridge now up n running like a good un. Just shows; seek advice & always try the basics (&cheapest) options first. Thank you for all of your help/input & advice. Stay safe & happy static moho'ing.
  6. A Fridge thread... Wooopeee

I'm a Fultimer & have been for 9yrs & Dometic/Thetford fridge probs have been the bain of my life. But; it has mainly been the gas operation & I've become competent at sorting most gas problems. Usually it is a case of 'a sigh of relief' when I hook up to EHU as that heralds a 'free of fridge...
  7. A Fridge thread... Wooopeee

No, is not working on hook up. No, is not working on gas. New gas jet recently fitted & burner healthy roar easily heard. Cannot see or smell any refrigerant thru lower fridge vent. Will examine through upper vent tomorrow. Thanks admin. Good questions. 👍
  8. A Fridge thread... Wooopeee

Yup. I'm on the level from both viewpoints. Middle of lockdown & fridge does a "terminate operation' on me. And to add insult to injury its happened on the same day I have finally fitted the new front grille, all sprayed up & smart, that I initially damaged in Feb in Portugal when a sneaky short...
  9. A Fridge thread... Wooopeee

Hi moho'ers. I'm on EHU & on lockdown outside my brothers house. My Thetford n3150 fridge, which has been working fine, has just failed. I turned it over to gas for a couple of hours but still not freezing up even though burner working perfectly. Only thing I can think of is the refrigerant gas...
  10. other alternative needed

Fine down here in Portugal. Blue sky & 25°c today & no panic buying. What's not to like. 😊👍
  11. Pros and Cons of Fulltiming

In my 8th Yr of fultiming now. I'm retired & have small house which is rented out. This enables me to live in a relatively new & mechanically sound moho (Rapido 640) which is important to me as my spanner welding days are long gone. I'm solo, did have a dog but she passed earlier this year. I...
  12. Wild camping spots in West Scotland

I notice a conundrum in your request. Wildcamping spots are wildcamping spots. Just that. Someone may indicate it as safe but never rely on that. Safety means different things to different people. The only 'safe' wildcamping spots are the ones that when you arrive feel safe enough for you. It's...
  13. Family reunions

Poi's on this site good for wildcamping. If looking for 'facilities' I heard a rumour from a friend of a friend that there are actual 'sites' (I think that's the word they used) you have to pay for (I know, incredible, but that's what they said.) where you are told what to do & where to park...
  14. Wetherby Old Stastion Car Park BEWARE NASTY RESIDENT so watch out

My personal nmbr 1 basic rule of wildcamping is.... If someone is upset about where I'm parked, whoever it is or whatever the reason, smile, apologise, wish them a good day and just leave/move on. I personally have no desire t be upset or to upset others. Don't question it, just move on. Over...
  15. Poiadmin thank you

Lovely to bump into Chris (poiadmin) & his two gorgeous canine ladies, at 'St Mandrier sur mer". Meeting a fellow solo male' doggy priority' traveller was a rare privilege indeed. Safe travels Chris & look fwd to meeting up again.... somewhere wild.
  16. La Azohia

Yes. Staying long term in these places is the big problem. I overheard conversation 2yrs ago from a UK moho'er long term parked up nr Alicante complaining bitterly about having to walk so far to the bin with his rubbish. "They (I presume meaning the Spanish) should provide us with a closer bin...
  17. charging and electric bike

I have a 600w pure sine wave inverter + a 3 110amp hr battery pack + solar panel. Plenty leccy to charge my Freego 16amp hr battery. I am off grid for 95% of my fultime moho'ing. 😊😊
  18. Mirror guard

Mirror Gard Get the white ones. With long arm mirrors they really stand out and give an optical illusion to oncoming traffic that you are a big wide vehicle. Drivers keep out of your way. Try it yourself. Stand in front of a moho with white mirror gards and then do the same with one with black...
  19. Heads up displays

Great comments & advice. Thanks guys. Have downloaded & used a simple gps speedo onto my smartphone which works fine & has nice big readout. That has been my niggle, not a particular serious problem, on the continent. Cannot read kph on the dash and the readout on my smarrphone sat nav also too...
  20. To Potti or not to Potti?

composting I've got a composting set up. Use it all the time. I don't use Chemicals just the composting kit. Bought mine from Wickes up in Scotland. They call it a 'Wee shovel' up there. I just call it a spade. Amazing how it very quickly combines the generated waste with ordinary earth...
