    Beware RWG mobile.

That sounds like the PAYG SIM I got fron RWG, it tops up £5 automatically every month for free! They stopped offering that a while ago. It's been great to have in the 2nd SIM slot in my phone for locations where my main network is weak. Not much data allowance so no good for that, but horses for...

    Salisbury overnight parking

There are huge flood prevention works going on in the central car park now, have been going on for months. The worst flooding for years has happened since they've been bu**ering about with the river! A lot of the car park has been taken up with construction machinery and it's chaos during the...

    Battery restart charger

Definitely solar panels seem to be the best fix - either that or find our why the battery drains so quickly. Oh, and 5 tons seems to be over the top for a charger and certainly not very portable 😉

    GasIt - still around?

Re stainless steel hoses, there's an interesting note on the Dragonproducts site - "We do not sell Stainless Steel Fill hoses because there are none approved to the required UK or Europe E67.01 Regulations"

    Reality check

I assumed it was supposed to be "anodised"!

    GasIt - still around?

I think the flexible hoses are supposed to be replaced at 5 years https://www.dragonproducts.co.uk/gasbottles

    Driving licence at 70?

Just to add re online application, as I said in my last post I don't need C1 so I went online last Thursday - received the licence today (Monday). Can't complain at that service. It not only picks up the photo from the passport, but also the signature.

    Driving licence at 70?

Just done mine online as my birthday is 1st May. I didn't want to retain c1, so very straightforward, especially as I haven't had a photo licence before, still got the green paper one. It picks up the photo from my passport so no need for another one, and I should get the new licence within 2 weeks.

    Bad news for forecourt LPG

Is Flogas still operating their LPG keysites or not? Trying to search on their website is impossible, even when I specify autogas LPG the map search still shows all types of gas stockists. Also, for over a year now they have been stating that they are unable to any new keysite accounts "due to...

    North Berwick

Says on SFS that it's open all year apart from match days. Looks like the next home fixture is 13th January. The last reviews were in August, so not too long ago https://fixtures.scottishrugby.org/club/fixtures/483

How do you play music etc. in an old camper with just a basic radio/cassette?

The AF function has been around for longer than that, at least 25 years!

How do you play music etc. in an old camper with just a basic radio/cassette?

You mean the FM adapter? A basic one just has a memory stick or SD card with your choice of music on it plugged into the adapter, which then transmits it on FM - you tune in your radio to that frequency. I think Trev's one has the additional function of bluetooth so you can send music from your...

Tyre pressure monitors. To buy or avoid.

Well as far as the motorhome is concerned, the wheels are heavy enough that my old limbs can only just lift them back into position when I've taken them off, so I reckon the weight of the sensor is such a small proportion of the total that it makes no difference. I've never noticed any unbalance...

Tyre pressure monitors. To buy or avoid.

When fitting them I put a smear of silicone grease on the o ring to make sure there's no air leak, and also a bit on the thread to make it easier to remove if required

Tyre pressure monitors. To buy or avoid.

Looks ok, the difference from the car ones is that there's no solar charging. I always leave mine plugged into a usb anyway.

Tyre pressure monitors. To buy or avoid.

It's a generic unbranded type, available on Ebay or amazon. The photo isn't good as the van is parked up with the screen cover on, so had to use flash. This model won't display pressures over 4.5 bar (about 65psi), many won't go over 3.5 bar so if you run higher pressures you'll need to look...

Tyre pressure monitors. To buy or avoid.

I have been using the aftermarket sensors for a few years now and wouldn't want to be without them - but I've always wondered about the accuracy of the temperature function. I can see how heat would be conducted through a metal valve, but I can't see how it works with the normal rubber valve (or...
