  1. Well, I'm immobilised...

a workmate just had this issue. I know this may sound obvious but it turned out the earth strap to the engine had corroded and snapped. Couldn’t see it as it was hidden. New strap fitted and started straight up.
  2. gas query

Could be wrong but from the angle and the regulator it looks like either a 901 or 907 calorgas butane bottle. a 907 is 2.5 or 2.6 kg. Probably the most expensive way of putting gas in your van. Anywhere from £25 to £35 to exchange. Usually find them in the smaller vw’s and the like.

  12. Tripod stool

Depending on your price limit you may try looking up Walkstool comfort, and Walkstool basic. The basic is around £36.00 and the comfort from £67.00 upwards depending on size. All are telescopic, high user weight limit (125kg for the lowest upto about 200kg I think). You can buy spares if you...
  13. AIB insurance

Just a quick one. Had my renewal from another company which had a "renewal fee" of £49.99 on top of the policy fee. Total cost £367.00. Time to try AIB I thought. Well done to you, so satisfying when you complete a job on your van yourself. Can I ask what size your batteries are? I only have 1 x 85 amp leisure battery and then the main battery and am wondering what size panel I would need to fit.
