  1. Definitely a first world problem

Thanks all, I’ll experiment with filters and strainers!
  2. Definitely a first world problem

Yes, but the problem is getting it out from the bottom of the cafetière, I find. I’ve tried spoons, spatulas etc. Maybe I need to invent a gadget and become fabulously wealthy on the proceeds. Yeah, right. The filter paper suggestion is a good one.

  4. Definitely a first world problem

How do you get the coffee grounds out of cafetière when you don’t want to rinse them under your tap into your grey waste tank? I need (well, I don’t need) a gadget for this. And please don’t suggest a different way of making coffee - we‘ve tried all those and keep coming back to our favourite...
  5. New Leisure Battery - New issue! :(

I believe the light is driven by any difference between what the vehicle battery produces and what the alternator produces. If everything is connected properly (I.e. No loose wires) then maybe the alternator is struggling. I didn’t read an earlier thread but if the old battery died because of...
  6. New Leisure Battery - New issue! :(

Double check the earthing of both batteries....
  7. Aluminium air battery

anybody tried these? they would suit what I need down to the ground: most of the time a single 100ah battery is enough, discharged to 50%, but just now and then I would value the full 100ah. So I was thinking I’d need 2 100ah batteries at about £200, but one of these, at about £290 would be a...
  8. Aluminium air battery

I’d fancied an Efoy because I like the idea but the costs did put me off. But wouldn’t it be nice if you had a non-polluting, silent box generating electricity. But, as with electric cars, delving deeper might be interesting. The energy required to build an electric car is greater than that...
  9. Diesel heaters, Propex heaters and hot water

Cheaper than this one - you could buy 3 for one of these: http://www.rainbow-conversions.co.uk/heaters-motorhome-caravan/imass-iwh-15-e-instantaneous-water-heater-lpg.html Just wondered... thanks!
  10. Drop down beds

We’ve plenty of little shelf crannies for things like glasses of water, alarm clocks and so on, but nothing to lean against. Biggest drawback in ours is both having to go to bed at the same time because it drops down into the seating area. I always moan about staying up late and have to listen...
  11. Adria 590 ST Matrix Review

Interesting point about the weigh bridge. I took ours (Dethleffs) when it was new and after making the corrections for this and that I found it was the best part of 70kg over what the book said....
  12. Adria 590 ST Matrix Review

Looks like you have the same drop down bed as us. Does yours rattle when you’re driving? Works fine, very comfortable, but blooming rattles....
  13. Burstner Ixeo

I'm not denying some people have had bad experiences, and they do sound grim - however, ours (touch wood) has never failed, we keep the duvet on it and it packs right up to the ceiling. The only noise I think it makes was one of the hoist brackets rubbing against a bit of a cupboard trim and 10...
  14. Burstner Ixeo

Crikey. We must be lucky with ours. Sorry to hear that tale of woe. I’d forgotten about the sliding doors that came open on corners: we fixed stronger catches and it’s been ok.
  15. Burstner Ixeo

We have the Dethleffs 4 travel 6966, which is identical physically but with different trim. No problems with the Dethleffs bit, apart from the Dometic fridge which is imho rubbish. The Fiat bit has had a few niggles but nothing too terrible. We love it. Loads of space, huge garage we never...
  16. Dometic RML fridge - door shelves

Thanks. We keep the van offsite and it’ll be a week or two before I can get there. I’ll be in touch when I can gather the data. Thanks for the offer - much appreciated!
  17. Dometic RML fridge - door shelves

Business opportunity for you... there are quite a few entries on various forums and blogs about these shelves
  18. Dometic RML fridge - door shelves

Thanks for the replies, folks. I emailed Dometic pointing out this was a problem from new - they just told me to make a claim from the dealer. I don’t know whether this is a sympathetic suggestion or a brush off! I’ll try. I’ll also try some superglue I think.
