    Travel to France

Some one mentioned to me that there is a new bit of paper work for France. I could not find anything on the government site. The daily mirror ran an article saying you had to pay 30 eu to the town hall???? Anyone able to clarify. Thanks

    Help VWt4 door

Just wondering if you clever chaps and chapetts can help. My sliding door that used to go whoosh bang, now sounds like a shaken drawer of cutlery. Why are the little wheels making such a funny noise? I have sprayed with wd40 but no change.

    Fully solar powered vehicle

A fully solar powered van would really float my boat, but sadly it probably won't happen in my driving life time. What a marvellous thought.

    Ferry to Spain

Pre covid I took the santander ferry a couple of times, return ticket that i felt was quite good value. Plucking up courage I had a look at prices for next year. I may have mis remembered but they seem a tad pricy now. I have a small vw and it said £300 - 345 one way! Plus £109 for a cabin...

    British weather

While many of us are complaining about the weather, spare a thought for those in Europe. There are weather warnings in Portugal and Spain and massive fires spreading to the algarve. I never go in summer, as it's too hot, usually I am home by the end of May. I hope any of our members who have...

    Thanks for the W emblem.

I am in France pooling about and generally using the Aires book which is quickly out of date. In Beauvais I stopped on what was marked as the aire, a big car park by a noisy road. In the corner of my satnav screen I noticed the W. Following it I found the lovely new aire. Thank you very much.

    Help with ETIAS

Some help in please with driving to France. The caravan and camping club advice list includes an Etias form. Some sort of visa waiver. When I look on the government site I can't find anything. Your advice, especially from recent travellers would appreciated.

    Trouble with my mojo

I seem to be having a little trouble and wondered if anyone else has the same. When I first got my van at the tender and enthusiastic age of 60 I travelled all over, and right down to southern Spain. I stayed it many places including rather unsavoury laybys. I don't know if it's covid...

    Dark Skies

Hawnby in North Yorkshire is the first village in England to turn down its lightning systems so you can see the stars. My simplistic summing up of an interesting article. There are other places in Wales and Scotland but this seems to be the first English village. I hope to visit some of these...

    Tenerife

I am in this lovely place ( by aeroplane) but on a walk along the shore counted 25 campers in a large car park. Firstly isn't it great they can do that but second, I was surprised by a couple of German vans. It must be a costly trip considering the drive down to southern Spain and then a lengthy...

    T4 help please

I hope some of you clever chaps can help with this question: Side sliding door, lower runner, the receiving gutter; this has become a bit gritty and mucky. How would you advise I clean this and what grease should I use afterwards.

National (not to be) trust (ed)

I recently heard that the national trust had rented/franchised their car parks in the lake district, so even if you are a member you have to pay. Has anyone experienced this? I was going to go this autumn but might not now.

    V W continuing popularity

I am on the Sennan Cove campsite, Cornwall, for a few days. It's only a small site but there are 11 vwT4 Van's, and it's not even a rally. It really shows the continuing popularity of this little van, from oldies like mine to brand new Californias. My first time in the van to Cornwall and I am...

    Dartmouth

The poi for Dartmouth on my satnav is a bit out, and is now a housing development. However the park and ride allows overnight for £10. N50.34654 W003.60213

    This will make you mad?

It has been discussed on here several times the do's and don'ts of emptying the toilet. Now whilst I do not condone wholesale emptying of the elsan in the countryside at least we don't get paid to do it!!! and of course motor homes will always get the blame.

    Planning 2022

Right, I have made the decision and, next year (tomorrow night basically) I am going to start planning and I have decided at last it is time to go to Cornwall. Foreign travel still rather tricky so the English Riviera calls. I have always thought they were anti van down there so have never been...
