No need to book ferries🤷♂️. Just go the scenic route and avoid Oban. The Lochaline ferry you just turn up and join the queue pay the man and your on the island to do as you please.
Don’t watch that click bait shite on YouTube.
When we bought the Crafter is was the first thing we done as we hated having to exit the cab and enter back in through the whoosh bang when we stopped.
I went for the Goodrich Trail Terrain tyres on my van which are not as aggressive as the All Terrain tyres I had on the last van. They were a bit noisy and reduced mpg by 5mpg.
Nice van and I’m sure you’ll get lots of pleasure in making it your own💪.
Thanks folks. To be fair our issues are trivial compared to what some are dealing with these days but when they all arrive at once it can be daunting.
We’re looking forward not back so hopefully be back to wellies and wood burners soon. And a new camper😉
Thanks again folks. ✌️🫶
Hi guys and apologies for radio silence but as Bill posted we have had and still have a lot going on.
Sold our lovely cottage in Doune which was very stressful thanks to Retties Estate Agents and are now in one of our rental properties until we find a new house. We have another rental we’ve...
Most wrinkles are couples and if using hook up the price goes up. I know it’s in a prime location but since it came under the name of Forest Holidays not Forestry Commission the prices have gone up considerably.
Why would you park on the roadside? It’s a busy road for a start and would think not a great place to sleep. I totally understand why they want to ban overnight parking on this stretch of road because the sheep once they see one van just file in behind turning the roadside into an unofficial...
Who thinks these things are going to last 10 to 15 years🤦🏻♂️. How long does any electrical item last these days? How long before a better one comes out and yours is obsolete? A lot less than 10 to 15 years I bet.
I think people are just justifying a big spend by kidding themselves it’s going...
I normally find a nice park up for the night away from people as I don’t like them. Then in the morning move to the Loch side carpark next to Glenmore Campsite and pay for parking and head for the hills. Sugar Bowl carpark is also a good one to leave the van if heading higher up. Plenty options...
Just need to know where to go😉. They’re stopping people parking on the road side🤷♂️. Don’t see an issue with that. Go and park at Loch an Eilein for a fraction of the cost and peace away from the hordes.
This thread has made me want to pop in and say hello next time I’m passing.
As I said in an earlier post it’s a miserable place. Our friend owned a house in Elizabeth Terrace Dornoch. He is golf mad and the house looked over the Royal Dornoch course. We went up once for Hogmanay and tried to...
Parking in the forestry car parks in the Cairngorms was never a problem until they opened the designated motorhome stopovers. Now you’ve got your Aires we’re banned from our sneaky wee spots. Be careful what you wish for🤷♂️🤦🏻♂️🤬
Driven the road a fair bit. Been towing a caravan then driving the camper to Sands at Gairloch for nearly 30 years and seen some changes during that time.
