We haven’t booked anything yet but plan to cross Dover to Calais on Irish Ferries late Aug. or early Sep. we converted our Tesco Vouchers into 2*£75 and 1*£40 before they changed the rate of exchange with “Partners” from 3 times to two times. We have a year to use them. If we pay the flexible...
Happy New Year everybody! We have the Ferry to Santander booked for end of January, planning head for Lisbon before following coast to the south east of Spain. Intending to head to Croatia amongst other places at the end of August. Wooooooohooooo!
We’ve never been checked and usually have some items in the fridge we shouldn’t. If you flaunted it they would probably do something but I don’t think they are interested in couples/ families.
We are (briefly) lost in France on our way to Germany in a small aire in Douchy le Mines just under two hours from Calais. Nope, we’d never heard of it either. It’s a very secure gated aire for 8€ a night. Electricity available for an additional 3€. Don’t think the town has much to offer here...
We’ll and truly caught out. Didn’t watch the final quarter because didn’t fancy watching whatever they were covering.
Totally agree about the presenters, we weren’t fans…….but we’ll still have a look tonight. Demonstration of eternal optimism perhaps!
While I agree with Fisherman’s summary of the programme, I did find most of it interesting enough to have a look again tonight. Hopefully it will focus a bit more on what’s attainable for the masses.
Thanks for letting us know Gordon. We’re planning to head off April - June so unfortunately won’t make that meet. if things change ……we’ll be there if there are stil places.
Nice place to chill, and lots of places for lunch, both along the beach front and in the old town. Pleasant walk along the coast to Albir, and beyond to the lighthouse if your up for a hike.
I suppose you could have put money in it. The day before we leave France, and more than two weeks after we applied for it, our ‘Certificate of Equivalence’ arrived from the French Government today. Ah well I guess we can frame it as a memento of our times!
Good to here your having a good time guys. Like you everything going well with us. Although the Scottish QR code is now validated within the Pass Sanitaire we’ve never actually been asked!! Unlike you we’re close to the Spanish border, heading to Pamplona on Tuesday. Feel just a safe in France...
Yes, Thanks again. I get that screen too. If places are happy with that, that’s great.
If you touch the QR code on that screen you get this screen which is the one they are supposed to scan. When you do you get “not valid.”.
I have tried deleting the app they use to scan and reinstall it but...
Well that’s good news. Thanks for that. We‘ll give it a go. I have the QR code downloaded onto the French app and all our details are there for all to see. The only problem is that if they try to scan it, the TousAntiCovid Verif App doesn’t recognise it. We‘re heading for Spain anyway, any more...
Arrived at Dover today and literally sailed through customs and onto an earlier ferry. The French Official couldn’t have been more indifferent and wouldn’t have even checked our Vaccine Status if Christine hadn thrust our letters in front of him. In Calais I don’t think we’ve ever passed through...
