OU Newhaven 1 (E Sussex) no longer available.

Where would one look to check it out? There are quite a few places I would like to question.

OU Newhaven 1 (E Sussex) no longer available.

The riverside parking on Denton Island is no longer available - 'no motorhomes overnight' signs. This was on the cards as the last time we stayed there prior to catching the ferry to Dieppe we were visited by a council official in the morning who said we couldn't sleep there. He was a tad late...

    Shingle Street, Suffolk

Hi Folks, There is a rough car park by the river mouth where the River Ore exits to the sea on the Suffolk coast. It's an area known as Shingle Street (for fairly obvious reasons). I've sailed past it many times but never visited by land. It isn't marked as a CR in the POIs - is that because...

    Battery booster pack recommendations

I've got a new battery - fitted at the roadside while I was away in the summer. I bought it online from the RAC who were there three hours later and checked everything through while they were there. This is just for future reassurance.

    Battery booster pack recommendations

We've suffered a couple of flat battery situations this year and I'd like to buy a booster pack in case of future problems. I've located one which seems to be well reviewed but mostly by car users. Any recommendations for a unit to use with my Vauxhall Movano/Renault Master van with 2.1TDi...

    Rubber Paint

I've used Plastidip rubber paint on some surfaces to protect them from condensation. It's not going to make a lot of difference to the actual temperature but I suppose it might make a psychological difference with a 'warm' colour. I would think there were better solutions. Personally I'd opt for...

Fixed bed vs no fixed bed?

In our last van, an L2H2 Transit self build, we had two singles - one a transverse across the back doors and the other a bench, longways behind the drivers seat, doubling as a bed and also dining seating. The passenger seat swivelled which gave us a sort of L-shaped social area. It suits us as...

Following the River Douro through Portugal - have you done it before?

We did the Duero/Douro trip via Miranda de Douro (nice local wines at €2 / bottle). In Porto you can stay on the harbour wall on the Gaia side, part-restricted on market day. 41.143134, -8.647576 Google Maps There's a fish market there selling freshly landed stuff from the local boats. You...

    Bilbao stopover sites

Yes, we've stayed on the free car park out of season. As I recall, the aire was quite expensive but as it was closed anyway it wasn't relevant. The 58 bus takes about 30 minutes to get to Atxuri where you can transfer to the tram or take a pleasant walk down the river. On another occasion we...

FOR SALE: 6kg Gas-it refillable bottle

I've fitted an underslung tank and now have my 6kg Gas-It Plus bottle cluttering up the house. It is a couple of years old, in perfect condition and comes with a pigtail to connect to your regulator. It will need a filler hose and filling point to make it fillable. There's a gauge fitted and I...

First problem with the new build.

Thanks for that. There is a video of it in operation on YouTube. Renault Master "Folding" Handbrake - YouTube I think I'll have to go for it and if there's still a height problem I can shim the swivel up to clear the lever. I think there's a FASP swivel supplier who offers shims in with the...

First problem with the new build.

Thanks. Sadly that wouldn't work with mine as the handbrake is still 11cm too high when it's down and I don't think the swivel assembly thickness will be enough for the top plate to clear it.

First problem with the new build.

Hi Folks. The newly purchased 2014 Movano (Master or Interstar) MWB base van is parked outside and the conversion project is commencing. The first problem is the old one of the driver's seat swivel clunking the handbrake. There is a solution from Renault in the form of a folding handbrake, but...

Hermanville sur Mer Aire., Near Caen

There's another nice spot farther up the Carentan canal, again in the POIs. We were there last autumn spotting cormorants and seals. The POIs around the Cotentin Peninsula are particularly good, especially those by the water.

    W Sticker

If you went from Rochdale to Halifax on the A58 you've have driven past my camper with a sticker in the window. If you had driven in the other direction you'd have seen the wheel cover on the back of my van. That's big enough not to miss!
