  1. Outer Hebrides

Hopscotch ticket’s no longer available. You have to do each route separately. Depending on your route and the length of your van it’s quite easy to book. We’re are all booked up for July… I
  2. Does this sign have any legal standing?

I really think ELC have lost the plot. I think they could charge a small amount to overnight in many of their car parks which would bring in extra revenue. Most car parks will be empty overnight and it’s not over nighters who leave the mess, have witnessed this myself, it’s the day trippers...
  3. Cal Mac to increase prices for motorhomes by 50-70%

We’ve seen them get the tape out at Uig in the past….we just don’t risk it as we’re 6.2 metres but twin wheels and long wheel base so we do look big…saves us sitting sweating at check in lol
  4. Cal Mac to increase prices for motorhomes by 50-70%

We unfortunatly are just over 6 m…if under, the price is not much more than last year. I think Transport Scotland is part of Scottish Goverment and they did do a consultation……maybe the Islands will be quieter as a result, which is why we go. We like to just chill out…
  5. Cal Mac to increase prices for motorhomes by 50-70%

Just booked our Ferries today for the Outer Hebrideas…….Transport Scotland has done away with the Hopscotch Tickets so you can only book single journeys if your wanting separate islands as in hopscotch mode. Our journey, which we do every year nearly made me greet……but hay ho….it’s what it...
  6. Caravan & Motorhome Club New Booking System

We went there a few years ago…before COVID, but the journey from South East Scotland took us almost a day. Could have reached the North Coast of Scotland quicker. The A75 was a nightmare….40 mph behind HGVs most of the way….not rushing back.
  7. Showers from 17th May

Stayed on Bunree C&MC site on May Bank Holiday W/end and the system for using the facilities is much better this year. A small tub of sterilising fluid containing 3 bands was outside each block, you took band, hung on hook and replaced on exiting. Also hand sanitizer at each water point/ bin...
  8. Forestry and Land Scotland

Stayed in one near Dalbeattie last October, machine said £3.00 for overnight, quiet happy with that.
  9. Almost full lockdown coming for a while...

Went from level 1 to level 4 overnight on Boxing Day....just live 12 miles from English Border, where our main supermarkets are.....don’t think our local Co-op would cope...
  10. C&MC site at Culloden Moor

Was at Culloden, before they opened facilities, when opened on 15th there was only 3 allowed in block at one time. Noticed that people with their own facilities still insisted on using the block, we preferred to use our own. Found that people on Holiday forget that COVID is still a real threat...
  11. First timer - off to scotland

Just done a 2 week tour of Scotland and it’s absolutely heaving. Usually holiday on the Outer Hebrideas, but had ferry booked for 1st of July when nothing was open so didn’t go. Many sites in the North are not opening this year, so those that are open are full. We did wild camp on a few...
  12. Outer Hebrides.

Go up every year, plenty of Wildcamping, head for the beaches. We do stay on some Campsites as we are friends of the owners. Going to go back to Huisinis this year, not been for 30 years so may have changed!! We usually just drive through Skye so cannot help much, but we also go to the Uists...
  13. Taking the cat camping?

Out last weekend at Yellocraig and van pulled in next to us. 4 wee dogs and 2 cats.....all tethered on leads. Glad my 3 dogs didn't spot them as it could have ended badly:lol-053:

  15. dogs on the ferry

Used to leave my dogs in van, but last year with 2 6 month old lab ×collie siblings decided to take them on deck. Was afraid the 12yr old Border Collie ate them if left in van lol. They were fine. Just booked for this year and will see how the 2 young dogs cope with travelling.......should be...
  16. Outer Hebrides Facilities

Only know of one emptying point on Lewis. Out past the airport heading for Point just before the Braighe. Car park with portable toilets, emptying point is behind said toilets. Please don't use any other beach toilets as they are all on septic tanks and over the year's some ave had to be closed...
  17. Air Fryers

Thankyou for all your replies. Might still buy one and use in house, then see how it goes. Thanks again Fiona
  18. Air Fryers

Hi Anybody have any thoughts on these. We only have 2 rings and a grill in our campervan......and a Cobb grill. Sometimes we use campsites to hook up, so just wondering if an airfryer would give use more choice on cooking. All of our camping is done in Scotland so the Cobb sometimes has limited...
  19. GPS, for north uist, South uist, Lewis and Harris.

Not sure if you can stay at terminal in Tarbert........now gated outside loading times, but am sure you could stay in main Tarbert carpark.......never stayed as don't do early ferries😊😊 Fiona ps. .. being doing the Hebrideas for over 30 years and still find new places to explore!!
