What a difference: for new A Class:
Caravan Club £1047, or £878 when pressed.
Caravan Guard £807
AIB £537
I’ve only got 2 years no claims as previously we insured in wife’s name, but all the same what a variation! All want Tracker and alarm, but then I would anyway.
Do you, or have you insured with AIB? The key question is how do they compare if you have to make a claim? Any problems with weasel words in their policies...or is it just that they are more competitive and understand Moho risks better?

Just be aware that AIB don't do "no claims bonus" (which is fine if it's your 2nd vehicle). I lost 10 years + when I changed companies.
Hmm! They didn’t mention that, they took account of my existing ncb. Are you saying they don’t credit you with ncb when you are with them, and won’t give you evidence of ncb when you leave?

Ian, we renewed this year with C&MC - they were one of the few that will cover 360 days in EU and do a green card for most countries. We paid £580, your quote does seem high.

They would only credit me with the 2 years I was with them, they didn't ask for No claims when I took out insurance. Not needed they said. Previous company was taken over they couldn't find my details, I'd had a clear out and binned old insurance documents. Insurance companies knew I had 10 years + no claims, but I had no proof.
Am I bitter? F00king right I am.

Please bear in mind that AIB are not insurers but insurance brokers.

Any claim that you make will be with the insurance company so your question about claims handling is not relevant.

Similarly the handling and availability of NCD depends on the insurer. Motorhome policies do not cater for NCD in many instances.

A French MH reversed into our CV in France. There was not a lot of damage but we did not want the French to get away with it - they weren't particularly apologetic. I spoke with AIB and they offered the option of using their legal claims service, which we did. We got a quote and the legal people contacted the French MH owner, got the money from them and sent it to us. So there was no recorded claim. This would not work if you wanted the repair work done quickly and the insurer to pay for it, but it worked for our small repair.

Our CV and car were insured through AIB for a number of years. Last year we got a better quote for the car, which AIB could not beat. We requested and received proof of the existing no claims from AIB. This was the number of years we went to them with plus the number of years we had been with them.

It is the legal responsibility of any insurance company or broker to furnish you with the details of your NCB if you ask them to do so.

AIB isn't an insurance company. It's a broker. They arrange insurance with the best insurance company for your requirements. You claim from the insurance company, not the broker.
They certainly do do no claims bonus, though perhaps some of the insurers they use don't.
