Good job it was fused then. Let's hope the fuses were fast enough and the inverter survived.

Box long gone, hopefully fuses have protected the Coils and PCB Components, didn't see any capacitors over blown, weird white semi liquid stuff stuck to the triacs (that's what I think they are called) guess it is some sort of thermal paste and cables off of them are for temperature monitoring

I have a habit of keeping the box for everything I buy! Not a recommendation, just a habit (can be handy, mind. I repurposed a box which contained a 'modelling workstation' just a few days ago - I bought the actual workstation in 2011).
Thermal Paste I would agree.
Hopefully the fuses will fix it but they are for overload protection not reverse polarity, so don't be further disappointed if still not working. Does the inverter pass the sniff test?

Good news about no pong.
We used to have some fun back in the 80's with a computer monitor that used to have a self-destructing power supply. A capacitor was too close to a heat sink and used to explode and smoke would pour out the back so the operator would rip the plug out the socket in panic.
The fun bit is that it the capacitor didn't actually seem to have any function and the monitor would work fine afterwards after the cap blew up. So the engineers would go on site and depending on the customer (usually how good looking they were - before #metoo of course!), we would either just the screen back on and ask them what they were talking about, or spend some time fixing it while chatting to them, or if in a nice location, arrange for a revisit with a new PSU (usually as an overtime call ). Oh, those were the days when field engineers actually used to repair stuff (occasionally getting the wiring diagrams, 'scope and soldering iron out - used to carry complete circuit boards but in their individual TTL component form

I would think a visit would be fine. I do plan to go to the overland/international campervan show, whenever that is, though.

- Power Tools
- Laptops that have non standard Power Supplies, Chromebooks can be charged with any supply via USB-C but other laptops have dedicated power supply blocks
- The Inverter I have also has USB Outlets at decent 2.1 AMP so that's good and they work regardless of inverter being on or off

Yes but probably not in my scope to fix as not got all the de-soldering tools and other tools necessary for small board electronics.
If you want it and think you can fix it then can give you a good price ?

nope, time is at a premium at the moment, got a pile of sonos amps sat on the shelf awaiting repair but cant find a minute to get near them, if i'm not working or doing something with the kids the remainder of my free time is spent building my camper. Plus my 3000w steady 6000w peak inverter is too fairy to run my 3000w water heater, so I doubt this would. I am sending it back to order a 6000w continuous one.
