I wouldn’t worry Marie, when the English are insulting us Paddys it’s a good thing tbh.The poor Irish!
The insults they have to put up with in here from you lot.
Good job my old granddad isn't still alive... to be sure, to be sure![]()
You should have seen the state of the new house we stayed in as our first b&b near Dublin when I was delivering a boat to NI in the seventies. I could hardly believe it, switches working wrong lights, cold out of hot tap and vice versa, I will have forgotten most of it. I wondered if it was deliberate to please UK customers. The poor Irish!

No thats normal and still goes on even up here in the british north section, many plumbing and heating jobs fall way short of spec, no one is policing building regs etc, brown envelope. You should have seen the state of the new house we stayed in as our first b&b near Dublin when I was delivering a boat to NI in the seventies. Try dropping on to a new huge Limestone Quarry Processing Plant which is three quarters complete and the previous Construction Manager never left his office (by the look of it). There were problems and bodges everywhere.I'd have loved to be a snagger, I seem to be drawn to anything not right, it's a gift and a curse.
Keep me out of this.I'd have loved to be a snagger, I seem to be drawn to anything not right, it's a gift and a curse.
How was it sorted? did you get any money back as it was seriously expensive?Hi everyone, Well.................. the widow has been sorted, not to bad but a bit shoddy looking but much better than it was ,at least I CAN shut the window now. Re the glue on the window apparently it is the result of uric acid from bird droppings stained the window, sticky stuff remover he used didn't touch it so having looked it up on the web that ?May? be true. Anyway thank you all for your interest and I have read some interesting things on the diverging theme. See you next time xxx
