Just spoke to Fiat professional at Walton Summit for a quote for our next service.

The last one I had done with the was £400.00 two years ago, this one will be £625.00. the motorhome has done 16500 miles now.
Or can anybody recommend a good mechanic who could service it in the Northwest who they have used, who is cheaper. Does seem rather expensive this time round.

Think we all come across this problem . Would it be possible to have a list of recommended garages [possibly non fiat {ford etc} compiled ?

I use a local commercial garage, Ainsworths in Ulverston, and have been very happy with the service and prices over the past five years.

Whenever there's been a part changed, brake pads and cv joints spring to mind, they have shown me the old parts and only changed what is needed. Our van, Hobby 750 tag axle, is like a Dinky toy to them. Louise does a good job keeping in touch if there's any changes to requested work.

I will be in a similiar position next year. This year it will be first mot and I will get a minor service done probs at my local Fiat professional dealer, will be around the £320.00 mark I reckon.
Year after at 4 years old they told me approx £440.00 so will look for an independant dealer. 2 years after that it will be timing belt etc so I would need a bank loan to pay for that at Fiat Proffessional lol !

I have been told about this garage, so I rang them and they quoted £280 all in, bit different to Fiat professional price.

I asked if they remove all the wheels to clean the brakes as well as change all the filters and oil which they said they do and also change the brake fluid. Sounds more reasonable so going to give them a try.
