I've booked a couple of nights at the club site in Southport and another couple in a c/l near Clitheroe in May with a plan to make a couple of weeks out of it. Boris permitting of course
If that fails I've booked a cottage at the back end of June.
If that fails I've still got my river cruise on the Douro booked for the end of September (this is the third time it's carried forward)
Something has got to work SURELY.

You’ve just got to love a Trier !.

“Boris permitting of course” I’ll make a special exception just for you😉

Nothing wrong with a bit of optimism.
If it all comes to nothing, you'll have spent nowt.
And had the thrill of the uncertainty for free
Good luck.

The river cruise was booked and paid for May 2020. We then carried it forward to May 2021, having got a few extras thrown in. We then decided a couple of weeks ago that May wasn't going to happen, but we still wanted to go so we moved it to September 2021. We expected to get lumbered with an additional cost but instead got a refund. Who cares, the money wouldn't earn anything elsewhere and we're insured should anything happen to us, if the holiday is cancelled we get a refund and if they go broke we still get our money back.

You say you are Insured GOD FORBID if anything happened to you.Obviously I wish you no illness BUT does the insurance now cover for #covid19 i/e is there a clause in there covering you for repatriation if you got ill in a Foreign land with Coronavirus? If yøu are covered for anything illness related to coronavirus has it put your premium up by much?

Yes. It's Saga. They are used to their clients pegging out and you can't even go if you aren't vaccinated. I fear your glass may always be half empty. Loosen up a little 😀 The insurance comes included in the package. It has to be with their clientele. I'm going because I'll feel like the toy boy.

I wrote in an earlier thread that there was vitriol on Any Answers the other week because my generation wanted to get away provided it was within the rules. I hope it doesn't emanate on this forum.

Sam we all want to get away whatever our Generation is and is a reason why we are members and love this Forum but sadly have to wait until the time and situation is right.

Hope it works out for you Sam.

Some companies are very good at refunding, some are not. We have been refunded some flights, a cruise has given us credit for future use and a MH company has deemed £560 admin charge and insurance paid up front by them is a fair price to pay [by us]. We have tried for a charge back via our credit card and basically been told not a snowflake in hells chance of any money back.

The MH company is called Yescapa. Whatever you do, DON'T ever do business with them. I could say a lot more but it will probably result in my post being deleted.

How do you spell ROGUES? ;)

Ive got x2 weeks of from this Friday. Nothing to do, no where to go. Denise is at work. Just me the cats and day time telly. Motorhome now fixed, cleaned and ready to go. She wants to book something for October. Not sure? Should be in Iceland now. Damm. Oh well, how bad can Loose Women, This Morning and The Daily Politics be? Still at least im not at work.

And if and when the rules allow as others have said be careful what you book carefully check the small print and most important of all Make sure you are fully insured for all eventualities.

Do you know I envy someone who is working at the moment. Something to get up for, somewhere to go, different people to speak to. I must be getting bad I'm even volunteering for ironing, vacuuming and dusting duties:cry:
